From Policy to Progress: Methane Regulation Hits One-Year Mark
New NGO coalition unveils first members and launches EU methane regulation implementation tracker
The European Civil Society Observatory on Methane (CSO-M) is an independent platform designed to empower civil society to drive down methane emissions from fossil fuels. By integrating science, policy and economics, it strengthens the role of NGOs in pushing for accountability amongst governments and industry.
The CSO-M and the Time for CH4nge campaign are distinct yet deeply interlinked efforts. While the campaign is designed to raise public awareness, the observatory focuses on building a network of civil society organisations active in reducing methane emissions.
The two initiatives complement each other: the campaign fosters public awareness so that the actions of Observatory members can take root effectively. They ultimately work together to address the methane crisis through both data-driven and action-oriented approaches.
Track how the EU Methane Regulation is being implemented across Europe. This interactive tool lets you filter by country and year to see which obligations apply, and how far each country has progressed in meeting them. Designed for policymakers, civil society, researchers, and anyone following methane policy developments. Explore the tracker and stay up to date.
